Teignmouth (pronounced 'Tinmouth') occurs as town on the east bank of the estuary mouth of the River Teign in south Devon, United Kingdom. the town grew from either a fishing port to a fashionable resort of a few note within Georgian times with farther expansion fallowing a coming of the atmospheric railway built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel which runs along a stone embankment between the sea & drop-off for many miles to the east towards Dawlish.

A port, inside being since a 13th century, is however active, mostly treating clay, timber & grain, by having numerous little pleasure craft mooring in the wide estuary. A town is linked by having Shaldon, the village on the opposite bank, by the rider ferry at the flow of any stream mouth & by the itinerant bridge farther upriver.

Although greatly decreased from either its hey-prime, Teignmouth however receives considerable many holiday makers, virtually all of whom visit a sea facing beach & a Pier with its amusement arcade and rides.

the american half of a town was destroyed (apart from either the Jolly Sailor pub) by fire within the period of a brief invasion per French in 1690, a survive invasion of England (though non of Britain when the French invaded Pembroke in 1797).

Inside popular culture, a rock band Muse was formed in Teignmouth & as well, Patrick Wolf has written a song known as Teignmouth, which may be encountered in his album Wind In The Wires.
